Russell's parents threw us a Housewarming party which turned out to be a lot of fun. It was fun to get together with some friends and family in our new place. On top of that, we were blessed with a few things we needed. We got a really nice rice cooker, dish towels, wall decor, gift cards, money, and our boys got a swingset from my parents. The adults had fun putting it together and the kids loved playing on it.
Now that we live in Tehachapi, we have gotten to experience our share of snow. Though I do not like being cold, I do enjoy the snow. Noah had fun making his first snowman with his dad. We also had tons of fun sledding!
Our little Brody is such a joy! We have been so busy with the move and so many other things that I have not gotten the chance to boast and brag about the newest addition to our family. Brody is very different from his big bro Noah. He was the sweetest baby, up until the colic that is. Thank God that it did not last long! Now that he is back to his sweet self, we enjoy seeing his personality bloom each day. He smiles often, but is much more serious than Noah. He is much more difficult to make laugh. The only person who can get him to crack up is his big bro. He has the cutest bubble butt! We like to call him "Big Booty Bro." His Papa calls him "Bright Eyes," which fits him perfectly. His eye color is really dark brown, yet they seem to sparkle. He says Mama and Dada among other babbly noises. He depises tummy time. He can sit up with and play with his toys and watch his brother play. He adores Noah. He loves to eat and is good at it. Unlike noah, he loves his veggies, he even prefers them over fruit. His hair is really fine and sticks straight up. I try to plaster it down with baby lotion, but within a few minutes, it is back in the air. He is a wiggle worm. You try to hold him and he tries to wiggle out of your arms, as if he can get down and walk or something.
We just love him to pieces and thank God for blessing us with another wonderful little boy.
Our Noah went poo poo in the toilet! Here is how it went down- we were eating breakfast and he pointed to his butt and said "Poo poo mommy!" So I grabbed him, ran upsatirs, took off his diaper, and sat him on the little potty. He sat there for probably ten minutes. He was looking at books and at one point, I read him this Potty book we bought him. I decided to leave him alone and the next thing we knew, he was saying " All done diaper." So I looked and he went! We were so excited. We were high fiving and he even took a picture next to his potty. He loved seeing his poop in there. He loved it so much that he didn't want to flush it away in the big potty. We called everyone and told them the news. Look how proud he is of his little accomplishment!
Our new home is almost complete...we will hopefully be moving in at the end of this month. So you can imagine that Christmas is going to be crazy this year. We will be opening presents and packing them up directly into boxes.
We are so excited to have a place to call our own!!!
It has been quite some time since I've updated this page. Russ has really gotten on me about it, so here are a few highlights from our life lately...
We finally took a trip up to visit Cerisa. We had a fantastic time! We did so much that it would take forever to explain. Here are the highlights: Cerisa, Stanford, Chinatown, Ethiopian food (which is actually very tasty), Fisherman's wharf, clam chowder, the Blue Angels, the Lantin family, the Gaitan family, the joy of traveling and a teething baby, stink bombs (courtesy of Russ and Chinatown), and Fountains diner (the best dessert ever)! We can't wait to go back!
It was Noah's first Halloween, so we decided to take him to Lombardi Ranch. He had a blast looking at the animals, playing with pumpkins, and trying to eat rocks. We think we'll make it an annual trip.
Well...It has been two years since Russ and I got married and we decided to celebrate in San Diego. We took Noah with us for two reasons: 1) he still gets the boob 2) he's too much fun to leave behind!
The Zoo was a blast! We went on Fri. so it wasn't too crowded and the weather was pretty nice. It was definitely warm, but not as scorching as the desert. The polar bears were sooo cute and all the monkeys were hilarious. They were for sure our favorites.
The best story of the day happened at the orangutang (I think I butchered that one) exhibit. First of all, the big male was trying so desperately to make love to one of the females. She would push away constantly and he would literally pick up her bottom and put it on him. Russ was getting a kick out of it. Next, we had Noah in his stroller pushed up right against the glass. The baby orangutang ran up, stopped right in front of him, and the two babies just stared at each other for a moment. They just sat there and looked at each other knowing the other was a baby too. It was sooooooo cute! People around us ooohed and awwwed.
After a long day of walking up and down steep hills at the zoo we decided to head to a delicious, much anticipated dinner at a seafood restaurant called Anthony's. It is downtown and right on the water. We had awesome crabcakes! Usually crabcakes are too rich, but these were perfect, I would totally recommend it. Next, we had yummy clam chowder. I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, but it ranks really high up. Fisherman's wharf in San Fran is pretty hard to beat. Then we shared a plate that had fried shrimp, scallops, and fish. It was all very delish.
After dinner, we went to Seaport Village for a stroll. I hadn't been there since I was little. It was fun to walk by the water.
The next day we headed to Coronado. We walked around, drove around, and had an early dinner at Peohe's. We wanted to rent bikes, but we knew it would be difficult with Noah. Plus, we were pretty tired from all the walking the day before that we just wanted to relax. I decided that if we ever had the money, I would want to live in Coronado.
All in all, we had a great anniversary weekend. I can't wait for more to come! I love my boys so much!
