Ugly Face Contest 2008

You decide.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas! It was technically our first Christmas in our first home. We moved in last year a couple of days before Christmas, so we were living out of boxes and went to our parents homes to celebrate. This year, everyone came to us. We hosted my family on Christmas Eve and had an unconventional, healthy, but delicious salmon dinner. The next day, Russell's side of the family came and we had a Mexican feast complete with homemade tamales, enchiladas, rice, beans, tacos, sopes, tortillas, and albondigas soup. It was yummy! Plus...it snowed! We actually had a White Christmas. It was beautiful! We opened up the drapes and blinds to watch it come down as we filled our bellies. We had a great time and it was awesome to spend time together to celebrate Christ's birth and all of His blessings. I just can't believe it's almost 2009. Crazy!

SNOW!!!

We woke up to a Winter Wonderland this morning! The snow is beautiful to look at and so much fun to play in. Noah is ecstatic! Russ and the boys made a big snowman in our front yard. It was so nice to see all the neighborhood kids playing outside in the snow, even though some had to dodge Russ' snowballs:)

Thanksgiving Weekend

Highlights from our fantastic weekend:
-Russ and I cooked Thanksgiving Dinner for our families...i think it turned out well.
-Russ and I got up at 3:30am for Black Friday, it was crazy out there!
-We played Wii with the fam and Noah loves it.
-Russ and I went out for my birthday w/o the kids, it was a nice break.
-The Youth Band & some others at church blessed our family with a trip to Disneyland,
a hotel stay, and spending money...all for helping them out, which we just love to do!
What a blessing! We are so excited! Noah wakes up everyday wondering if today is the
day we get to go to Disneyland...very soon! :)Yeah!

A Blueberry sucker and a Baby

So not worth the sticky mess, but certainly worth the laughs.

Playing with Daddy

Brody really enjoyed this and would fling himself forward fully trusting that Daddy would catch him. Noah however, was not a happy participant.

Cuddle bugs :)

Images like this make my heart melt. They climbed up into the chair by themselves and were watching tv together.

New Furniture...

well not really. We have Russell's parents old furniture in our bedrooms, stuff they got when they got married. They are really nice pieces, they just needed an update. So this is when my painting project begins. I want the boys furniture to be black, so far I love how their nightstands turned out. I still have to do a big armoire. In the master bedroom, I have yet to paint two tall dressers, a nightstand and a sleigh bed. I want them to be antique white. But when all is finally said and done. We will have new furniture without it costing much more than a couple gallons of paint and some elbow grease.

Oh yeah...and we got this FREE entertainment center off of Craigslist. I did not like the light wood color, so I painted it black. Pretty good huh? Not quite finished, I have to scrape the primer off the glass in front, but you get a good idea. I love FREE!

Today gas is...

$2.39 / gallon
That makes me happy, that means it is less than 30 bucks to fill up our car. Love it!
(since i posted this, it has gone done to 1.87, even better!)

A Voter's Perk :)

We voted yesterday and happily drove to Starbucks to claim our free coffees. It was a nice treat on a chilly evening in Tehachapi. And though the candidate we voted for did not win, we are still in good spirits because we put our trust in God. (And yes, I would still say the same thing if McCain had won.) God Bless America.

Hallelujah Night

We went to Hallelujah Night at our church for Halloween. The theme was "The Army of God" and we showed up as His asian army:) We all had a good time. The kids got dog tags, tattoos, tons of candy, there was a skit, some praise, a balloon room, and an obstacle course. The kids also got to decorate there own Swords of the Spirit. Our favorite costume of the night was Russ' friend Patrick who showed up as Patricia. It was hilarious. Dinner was also provided to everyone which was a nice treat in itself. It was a nice way to spend Halloween with our friends and family.

More Pumpkin Patch fun

Murray Family Farms

We took the boys to Murray Family Farms to pick pumpkins, walk through a big spider (hay) maze, and for a hay ride. Our friends Tim and David tagged along and we all had a great time. The older boys got their faces painted and Brody became victim to the mustache brigade. After seeing the others, Noah wanted no part of face painting. We got our little pumpkins and yummy pomegranates. It was a fun day!

One little bottle of Root Beer...

can create one massive mess. We had one bottle of root beer in the back of the fridge, and somehow, it froze a bit, and exploded. There was glass and soda in every nook and cranny of our lovely fridge. Thank God for my amazing and patient hubby, who cleaned the mess up for us. Love him!
